Kentucky Derby Hat Swap!

Wanna know a little something about me?

I am a huge hat person!! Actually, I'm a huge headwear person. I love hats, crowns, tiaras, bonnets......you name it!

So.... when I heard Bristol from Honey Bend Vintage was putting on a hat swap, I was there!!!!

My partner was Renee from Vintage Recreations. She was so sweet and so easy to work with!! She told me she likes blue, sparkly stuff and vintage.

This is what I came up with....




I decided to make a crown! Of course, I just had to make one in a Marie Antoinette style......good grief, I've got such a growing obsession with that woman!! LOL




I tried to add a lot of sparkle for Renee with glass glitter stars, German lametta tinsel and vintage rhinestone jewelry....




I used vintage lace as a base and encircled the entire crown with a wide crepe ruffle. I trimmed that with more vintage lace and pale blue ribbon.




Around the bottom of the crown, I made a little garland of pretty trim, crepe and roses!




I wanted a really soft color palette, so I used mostly white and cream with just a bit of blue peeking through.....

This is the back......I lined the inside completely with marabou!
